raising the bar of wedding photography !
SE - What was your career path? How did you get from being an aspiring photographer to actually doing it full time, for a living?
To be honest we are still attempting to move on and do photography as a full time profession. It takes a lot of time, effort and yes a lot of Money to be able to make it a full time profession. Most people do not realize the actual effort that a photographer puts in to each and every Image. For most people if you ask them their view on the work of a photographer they would say he/she just needs to capture the images and give it to them. In reality it is far more than that. The job of a photographer only starts after the images are captured. He/She then has to take all the images captured sort them out, apply any corrections that need to be done (color, brightness, contrast etc) and then ensure that the image still looks natural.
SE - What sets you apart from other wedding photographers?
We specialize in wedding candid's and always capture the moment in its natural state. We never ask clients to pose for a shot after the natural moment has passed.
SE - What or who got you started in photography
I got started in photography just to capture the natural moments of my friends and family. and I am now trying to extend that to all my clients as well.
SE - What gives you ideas and inspires you to create such great imagery?
Observation is the key. You need to pay attention to every detail around you and be ready to capture when something extraordinary happens. It is like capturing lightning. It is very difficult but not impossible.
SE - Where would be your dream destination assignment?
It is very difficult to name just one place. There are many destinations that photographers like to portray in the images. For me I would say rather than a destination it would be to get an assignment that is truly unique. Maybe a wedding on an island.
SE - What do you think of the wedding photography industry at the moment and where do you see it in 5 years from now?
Wedding photography for now is a very challenging industry with cameras and other equipment becoming more accessible to every one. It is important to set your self apart from the crowd. In 5 years I believe the competition will become even harder than it is today. I believe in 5 years from now it will become more important to capture emotions and natural reaction as compared to posed images.
SE - What do you find most exciting about shooting a wedding?
Learning about new cultures and religions. It is amazing how many emotions you get to see on a single stage from different people around. If you take the bride alone you will see Joy, Sadness, Confusion, Worry, anticipation and many more.
