The mother of all hush-hush weddings is here…
Going strong since 2013, tinsel town’s fav Anushka Sharma and the cricket heartthrob Virat Kohli tied the knot in Italy on December 11, 2017.
And the team at Shaadi Elephant wishes the gorgeous couple a lifetime filled wth happiness and love.
Their love story is the one that give you those giddy-in-the-tummy feels. The couple met during an ad shoot for a shampoo commercial in 2013 and haven’t looked back since.
While Anushka swept Virat off his feet, the handsome cricketer returned the favour back with some truly grand gestures.
From blowing a flying kiss to his lady love Nushki(yes, that’s the nickname Virat has given Anushka. Totally Adorbs right???) in a match back in November 2014, to standing solid with her against all the backlashes, Virat became an inspiration for #gentelmangoals.
Now lets talk about The Wedding.
The couple exchanged their wedding vows in an intimate and gorgeous ceremony in Tuscany, Italy.
With the décor that looked just out of a heavenly dream and Anushka’s Sabyasachi bridal lehenga which took 32 days to come to life, the wedding was rather a very sneaky affair.
The Wedding Décor was designed by DevikaNarain at DEVIKA NARAIN & COMPANY, captured by her award winning photographer husband JOSEPH RADHIK and planned by the boutique wedding planners at SHAADI SQUAD. The overgrown garden theme inspired by growth and prosperity, was ethereally executed in the beautifully villas of Tuscany with the “GharkiShaadi” feels.Gorgeous flowers flown in from Holland, intricate fabrics from India and the glass lanterns added that angelic halo to the magical wedding of very-much-in-love and on the top of the world-happy couple.
Each guest was gifted a compendium of Rumi’s poems.
Bellissima! Anushka looked like an angel that has just descended from the empyrean.
About her wardrobe-
For her Mehendi, Anushka looked boho chic in a hand-painted graphic lehenga by the famous block-printers from Calcutta, in fuchsia pink and Indian orange.
Artists from The Sabyasachi Art Foundation rendered a stunning 60s pop print on the hand-woven Indian silk.
A pair of 22karat gold stunning jhumkas with Iranian turquoise, tourmalines, uncut diamonds and Japanese cultured pearls completed her free-spirited look.
What Virat wore-
Mr Kohli looked classic as ever in Sabyasachi’s signature khadi kurta and churidaar with the bright fuchsia pink textured silk Nehru jacket.
And for her engagement, Anushka wore Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s velvet saree in his signature Gulkand Burgundy.
The six yards of elegance was hand-embroidered with miniature pearls and the exquisite zardosi and marori.
Her jewellery for the night was a splendid uncut diamond and pearl choker with matching studs, one of the finest by the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry Collection.
Now before we get all consumed by Anushka’s bridal look,
let’s see what Virat wore for his wedding day-
Looking like a prince in a Sabyasachi Ivory Sherwani handcrafted in a vintage Benarsi pattern and Sabyasachi signature house buttons.
For her wedding day, Anushka donned a pale pink lehenga with Renaissance embroidery in vintage English colors elaborately adorned with silver-gold metal threads, pearls and beads.
Her jewelry was once again a skillful handcrafted piece of uncut diamonds, pale pink spinel and Baroque Japanese cultured pearls, a masterpiece by the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry Collection.
Her bridal beauty has set in stone the Minimal Makeup trends, perfected by Makeup Artist Puneet B Saini.
And Oh My! Those pink and white peonies adorning her bun-the breathtaking artistry by Celebrity Hairstylist Gabriel Georgiou.
Yes! We are in over our heads with our hearts floating in all the prettiness that overflowed in Tuscany a few hours back.
The Wedding was captured by the lens of STORIES BY JOSEPH RADHIK and filmed by THE WEDDING FILMER.
The pictures popping up till now are remarkable but our hunger-monger souls are waiting for more.
After all the media speculations and guessing games, the wedding of this year, which we all were waiting since a really long time has finally happened.
But the swarming of internet with Virushka’s wedding videos and pictures has just begun…
And we will soon be coming up with VIRUSHKA’s reception pictures…
